Hanoi - Lijiang - Shangri-La (5 Days/4 Nights) – Direct Flight to Lijiang with Vietjet Air

05:45: The tour guide and vehicle pick up guests at the Times City Welcome Gate (in front of MB Bank, address: 458 Minh Khai Street, Times City Urban Area, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) and transfer to Noi Bai Airport to check in for the flight to Lijiang: VJ7076 | 10:05 – 13:00.

Lunch: A light meal of rice or noodles provided for the group.

13:15: Arrive in Lijiang and complete immigration procedures. Afterward, the vehicle picks up the group for sightseeing in Lijiang:

Black Dragon Pool Park – where meltwater from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain flows down to nourish the land of Lijiang. From the park, visitors can admire the majesty of the millennia-old snow mountain against the peaceful backdrop of the calm lake water.

Lijiang Ancient Town – Built in the late Song Dynasty over 800 years ago, located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau at an altitude of 2,400m above sea level. The architecture here uniquely blends Han, Bai, and Tibetan styles with the traditional style of the local Naxi people. Furthermore, Lijiang was a bustling commercial center on the legendary Tea Horse Road, where merchants traded Tibetan horses for Chinese tea. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, it is often dubbed the "Venice of the East" with its picturesque scenery. Streams flow past every household, flanked by banks blooming with chrysanthemums. Charming small bridges span the water, decorated with fresh flower boxes. Outside the doorways, weeping willows drape down the steps, creating a surreal and beautiful landscape.

Evening: After dinner, guests are free to enjoy the colors of Lijiang by night and freely experience local music and folk dances.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, the group departs for Shangrila – the "immortal land" from British author James Hilton's novel Lost Horizon. In Tibetan, Shangrila means the place of destiny and good fortune, serving as the center of three major rivers: the Yangtze, Lancang (the upper Mekong), and Nujiang.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Visit the most beautiful scenic spot on the grassland – "Ngu Sac Ha Da" – where prayers written on colorful Lungta flags carry blessings to everyone. Hanging Lungta has become a spiritual, simple yet sacred ritual of the local people.

Free time in the afternoon/evening to explore Dukezong Ancient Town (Moonlight Ancient Town) – a well-preserved ancient Tibetan settlement with a history of over 1,300 years, making it one of the best-preserved in China. Here, visitors can admire hundreds of carefully preserved ancient Tibetan-style houses, where hospitable locals introduce characteristic cultural features, daily lifestyles, and offer warm hospitality.

Evening: Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight at a hotel in Shangrila.

Morning: After breakfast, the group visits Songzanlin Monastery (Ganden Sumtseling Monastery), the largest and most important Tibetan Esoteric Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, China. Set against a magnificent landscape at an altitude of over 3,300m, 5km from Shangrila, the monastery was built in 1679 by the 5th Dalai Lama as a scaled-down model of the Potala Palace (Tibet) and completed after two years. During its prime, it housed up to a thousand monks.

Lunch: Lunch at a restaurant, followed by departure back to Lijiang. Explore the beautiful Shuhe Ancient Town.

Lashi Lake Migratory Bird Bay – located near Lijiang, Yunnan, is a famous lake and wetland area with vast natural landscapes surrounded by mountains and grasslands. It is a major winter stopover for migratory birds. Visitors can watch flocks of birds on the lake surface, enjoy the peaceful natural space, and capture scenic photography.

Evening: After dinner, guests can optionally watch the show "Lijiang Romance" (Song City Eternal Love) – one of the four famous shows in the beautiful Yunnan region. Lasting over an hour, the show recreates the historical formation, development, and legends of Lijiang, including the heartbreaking love story of the Naxi ethnic group... (at own expense).

Overnight in Lijiang

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel, followed by departure to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area.

Take the small cable car up to visit Yunsongping (Spruce Meadow) at an altitude of 3,200m to enjoy views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain – a 5,596m peak snow-capped year-round. The permanent ice glows with a jade-green hue. Also called the virgin mountain, it remains unconquered by humans to this day. Many mountaineers have been defeated by the mysterious virgin beauty of this top-tier scenic mountain in Yunnan province.

Visit Blue Moon Valley and White Water River – formed by melting snow from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Lunch at a restaurant within the scenic area. After lunch, guests can enjoy the "Lijiang Impressions" show directed by the renowned Zhang Yimou. This outdoor musical performance takes place at an altitude of over 3,000m, with the sky and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain serving as the natural backdrop – an unimaginable spectacle unless experienced firsthand (admission ticket included).

Visit Yushui Village (Jade Water Village) – a scenic location showcasing the customs, beliefs of the Naxi people, and Dongba culture. Visit a Naxi Village – a typical ancient village in Yunnan, China.

Baisha Ancient Town – an ancient town located north of Lijiang, Yunnan, at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is considered one of the best-preserved places showcasing traditional Naxi culture and architecture.

Evening: Dinner at a restaurant. Free time to explore the ancient town.

Overnight in Lijiang.

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel, check out, and visit Zhongtiehai Park – where the scenery of lakes, snow mountains, forests, and green lawns creates the distinctive peaceful atmosphere of the Lijiang plateau. The park features walking and cycling trails about 5km long, perfect for strolling, cycling, sightseeing, and photography.

The vehicle and tour guide transfer the group for lunch and head to the airport for the return flight to Hanoi: Lijiang - Hanoi VJ7077 | 14:00 – 15:00.

15:30: Arrive at Noi Bai Airport. The vehicle and tour guide transfer the group back to the initial pickup point. The guide bids farewell and sees guests off on future journeys.
